im struggling to understand the problem at all tbh , just because there was pics taken of 2 cars at a workshop, then they are automatically under threat of being stolen?? also there are pics all over of cars that the owners dont know about id imagine , so an owner being annoyed about his car being snapped by an enthusiast and shared with enthusiasts is now a problem? its all a bit silly tbh and has been blown out of proportion in my eyes

Couldn't agree more!
When I had the TVR and the RS500 I had school kids taking pics on their phones all the time when I picked my daughter up from school (it helped that the TVR had an uprated (noisy) exhaust and monster sound system.
I can't remember running around like a Morris dancer saying "shoo" and waving them away with my hankies.
Now, local or government authorities having images of you here, there and everywhere is another issue....

you could also try the natural disguise shown here and save embarrassment for behaving like a paranoid looney!!

the trouble nowadays (god, oi sound loike moy unkll elbuht) is that everyone is so used to having everything in
life controlled by all the do-gooders out there that they can't think for themselves any more. yes,
there are nutters out there and yes dreadful things happen to a tiny unfortunate percentage of the population.

folk ought to try and stand on their own two feet and not fear that they will inevtably become a victim of something dreadful in life.
it's LIFE - dreadful things CAN happen but the chance are, just like the national lottery, that IT WON'T BE YOU!!

mind you, no wonder folk are paranoid - next time you are unfortunate enough to get news delivered to your brain via
tv, internet, the SUN (?!) then look and see just how many of those news topics are GOOD news - 'nuff said.

so, as the excellent nick ross used to remind us at the end of a nerve-shredding crimewatch show, "sleep well and please
DON'T have nightmares..." chances are that when you waken up in the morning your beloved audi will still be sitting in
the garage waiting for you, regardless of whether an audi fanatic posted a couple of random pics on an even more random
minority interest internet forum.

ps you know that any of my cars gets pinched then there's no way i'm telling you lot about it, don't you?!!!

I think it's all down to where you live, paranoia levels and how much your workshop needs tidied .
I can understand why(see above) some folks, don't like it.............but does it really make a difference, if someone wants your car they'll get it assuming they're hell bent.
I'd rather see a picture of my car on t'net taken by a like minded enthusiast ........than I would parking it as close to the entrance of tesco/asda/etc............I know what's riskier !
........and what makes Classic Audi great......PICTURES !
Each to their own though.

So how do we feel when plod is positioned in the entrance road in Tescos Chesterfield today with ANPR?
I have to ask why; iit can't be proactive to catch stolen cars can it?
But do we mind or moan about it? And if so, why, or why not?
Personally I can't see the justification, as it was on a bit if the entrance road that made sure the ANPR device was hidden, with an unmarked car and 2 big, fat, pension-near cops sat in it.
But conversely, it doesn't worry as I am taxed, insured etc.
But I hardly think its an effective use of taxpayers money....
