I have Nokians on my A4q great tyre and not that expensive, avoid the really cheap ones, anything like pirelli / michelin will be expensive, well worth the money i love winter tyres

Same here, though they are notas good as summer tyres once temps rise above 2-3 degrees. Mine understeer in warmer temps on wet roundabouts but in the snow and -3degrees they are brilliant

Continentals are very good but they have quite a soft side wall.
Have a look at the Maxsports, I had them on and off for 4 years now without any bother.
As long as you arnt hitting 140mph every day there exellent. Brittish too

I have the maxsport alaska I, very good on ice, snow and cold tarmac.
I would go for the alaska II, or IV as they have a better tread pattern.

All new tyres have ratings for noise, fuel efficiency and braking distance.
I'd go on Blackcircles.com and input either your tyre size or reg number.
You will be shown a plethora (3 amigos, anyone?) if tyes with the ratings and prices.
All the ratings are to industry standards, and are objective.
Well worth a look.
I'm looking at prices for tyres to fit (whisper it) a Grand Cherokee...
