Similar power, lighter weight. Less of a boat anchor.

Shopping list
A4 quattro TDI 6 sp box with linkages from a v6 TDI code DQT IIRC
Rear diff from an s2 coupe
6 speed prop from an s2 coupe.
AFN engine from a passat or A4, check out acidburn's TDI conversion on the 80 avant

Or just convert the car to lpg

Either that or a 5 speed tdi box. I have one that was spare from a conversion that will be getting binned soon.

yes but a 140 2.5 5 cylinder can be mapped to near 180bhp and loads more torque than a 1.9.... and sounds a hell of a lot better with a good exhaust

Got a ur that will be running between 400 and 500 bhp when I pull my finger out and finish it .

The coupe will be to run around in and petrol is not for me any more unless it's going to put a massive smile on my face.

Not sure yet if to use 4 pot or 5 pot diesel just looking for ideas but will be doing more research. Want around 150 bhp which should be plenty to keep with the modern crap that's on the roads now. Never thought I would go near a diesel but after repairing a 1.9 tdi passat last year with a snapped cam belt ,I can't believe the mpg its doing with my wife running the kids here ,there and every where.

The usual figures I've heard stock engines are capable of are 250 bhp/450 nm for 1.9 TDI and 250 bhp/500 nm for 2.5 TDI. Of course, with bosio race injectors, VNT turbos etc.
