![]() if you do manage to build one for half that, A> you need to accumulate all the info about every little bit of spec on these cars, like andy has, B> finding the parts or having them made (try doing it) C> is years of labour if its your own and your that skilled or pay a team of top tradesmen months to build it if your not, think you will find that will be the other half or a lot more. D> hyjack one at gun point at traffic lights next time you see one. E> next option is as rogers says get your £250,000.00 together for an original if you find one forsale. that one is one of the best recreated S1s on the planet.

![]() I would like to be in a position to afford this car, and I'm sure it's excellent in its own right.
And for all the comments I've made, I would balance them out by saying that this is different to buying an ex-works rally car that has been re-shelled 3 times and had 4 different engines etc - they are not, to me, that ex-works car anymore, they are 'triggers brush'. At least this car makes no pretence of being an ex-works car, it's firmly a recreation (or whatever we may wish to call it) and is unashamed of what it is. |

![]() Thankyou for your comments on the sale of my car, very interesting and differing views.
It was very hard to decide on a sale price, and believe me its cost a lot more to build. ( Hamish if you can knock them out at half price to the same standard as mine, i'll have 3 please.) I suppose if you want a car that has a huge presence and attracts invites to events, home and abroad, and your not worried about rolling it into a ball because its of no historical significance, well it might be the car to purchase. Like Roger says, there not going down in price. ![]() |

![]() No, not the E2, i've found something else abroad, the guys seen my S1 and is happy to keep it for me, as long as I do the same quality restoration. Please don't ask what, as I have to sell the S1 first and I don't want to be gazumpted. |

.ALL the info needed to recreationte these cars is available through different channels... it is a very nice recreation of a s1 but lacks authenticity of genuine swb's(after all these cars are effectivly "cut and shut"...(now no-one would buy a car that has been 2 halved would they??) i would like to see some pics of under the bonnet so can comment further on this recreation i really hope it sells for this money as it will indicate there is a market for such recreations 100k gets you some really impressive stuff nowadays |

![]() I was gonna say the same.No under bonnet piccs.
Given all the time in the world, a four door shell, and £60k,yes you could build one. BUT.... I dbout many people have the time needed, but plenty of people have the money, hence the asking price. Building one is hard, buying one is easy. |
