I presume its due to airbags fitted to newer steering wheels. It's the only logic thing i can think of atleast.

Thanks for your effort though, let me know if you have any luck

Nah, couldn't shift the block when I was originally selling everything, it went to the scrap yard with the shell in the end - shame as it was a cracking engine.

Prices now reduced and parts are in the process of being added to evilbay. If anyone needs anything let me know and I'll pull the auction if required.

No not trying to wreck your party at all Tim.
I was personally in the situation of trying to sell the few 16v bits I was left with.
I tried here numerous times,as with ebay.

I've never known a pile of parts so difficult to shift.
Just thought if I mentioned it you may not bother, yknow ... as I'd been the guinea pig and had bits sitting here for almost a year unsold.

I know it doesn't help you sell your stuff.I'd help if I could,as you helped me with my bits so no hard feelings.

Yes,Autojumble at Newark is superb for buy and sell.
Found a stunning set of Lorinser 19"s for the Merc for £240!!!
Must get some rubber for those!

I think with the 16v folk just avoid them in the first place,as they're a pig of an engine in a few peoples' opinions.

Really??? I thought the 16V was a great engine, really powerful (considering the weight of the car) and sensible mpg too.

Anyway, no hard feelings whatsoever fella, why would there be? Just a little confused by your response. Anyway it seems things have started selling all of a sudden (maybe its the time of year?) Metering head and distributor have found a new home earlier this evening, chuffed they have gone to a good home and are keeping another one going.

It was a 16V Coupe that got me into the classic Audi fold, I liked mine too. Then my good mate, impressed by my car went and got a 5 cylinder Coupe......... the gauntlet was down and the rest history
