Is it just me or are they loosing more and more people lately.
I went on earlier to read about the unfortunate demise of a forum member and after that I had a look on the site, sent a pm about purchasing something on there and replied to another message on there that someone was after a part I had. I've come back this evening afterwork and logged on, i've gone to check my messages to find that they've deactivated my messaging function on there. This goes along with them deactivating me being able to use the gallery sometime last year. I've had a look thru and found the post saying that if you're selling stuff etc they are going to be charging for that. I wouldn't have minded sorting something out but its the fact they do stuff without even a polite email saying what the problem is. So I did what I thought best. Deactivated my account, its a shame as it was the first site that I joined before I purchased my first blue s2 after speaking with jas11n but in that time the sites become a ghost town, I can't see it lasting much longer at this rate, shame as it had a lot of potential at one time.

It used to be a busy site and I used to frequent there myself till they banned me for offering a bit of friendly advice to Randall here about 200 5T's.
Proof is in the pudding to be honest for me. 'fans used to be busier than here but has all but faded away mainly due to their attitude. These figures are from just under the last 12 months. Classic Audi has had 59341 posts Audifans has had 10141 posts |

See for me I've got to say that I've glanced on that site but never even considered joining as it didn't look overly friendly/useful from the outside.
In fact, I'm only a member on here, not even quattroforum. Partly because I don't want to be flitting from forum to forum but mainly because I've always been able to get the advice and parts requests from here! ![]()

I do remember a real funny instance about 5 years ago when they binned a thread of mine.
Ya see, the software they use is pretty shit to say the least and very outdated, and they moved my thread in to their mods section and then the mods replied to it with the title "Coxy crap".... well, as soon as they did that, I got an email notification that it had had a reply and with the amended title!! ![]() ![]() I had to laugh at the time as I'm never come across such pig headed attitude in my entire life to be honest. Still got all the replies from AF including the ones asking me not to tear their site apart on here. Their main beef was that I'd sent a pm to a couple of members who had posted in their old timers section and I got accused of dragging an old thread up. The old thread was a whopping 7 days old. The reason I dragged it up as they so nicely put it, was that no fucker on their site had bothered to reply to it and when they did, they just basically took the piss as he'd bought a Typ43. The thread was 2 down from top!! Still have to laugh about it now. Well, if you look at the old timers section, it's not exactly brimming with posts really, in fact the first page goes back with threads from 9 years ago now! Randall had posted in their about Typ43 200's and after a week got a very saucy reply off one of the mods, so I interjected with a little pointer to here. Then they got shitty.... well, in my book, don't be so fuckin' sarcy, answer threads from new members after advice in a nice manner and get off yer fekkin' high horse, rather than alienate people then ban them with any notification. |

In one of my emails at the time, I stated, stop alienating members else they will leave.
They continued to do so and bugger me, look what happened. ![]() figures count for a lot, currently on-line: Registered Users: None I won't say I told ya so...... |

I was banned from Audifans for trying to find out where my club newsletter was.
I joined their Audi club and you were supposed to get 12 newsletters a year, well they came whenever they must have felt like sending one, two months here four months there. Then i found out that the printers who produced the newsletters for the club were in the same town as where i live so i decided to call and ask if they have the latest one and when is it coming out, the printer told me then had not heard from the club in months and did not know when they would get the next one. A few days later i get a letter from Audifans saying i am no longer welcome in the club because i called at the printers to ask about the newsletters and that it had nothing to do with me, well i think it did because i paid £25 to be in the club and for the club mags and i was getting nothing for my money. Then i tried to log onto their website to find out i was banned from there too. PS, Coxy getting banned, in the words of Victor Meldrew, I DON'T BELIEVE IT! |
