Wicksteed Park is famous locally for three things:

a) Manufacture and sale of Victorian-style playground equipment, like the old-fashioned cast iron slides and swings?

b) Canada Geese - a local pest especially in the Park because they shit EVERYWHERE. Wicksteed's culls and proposed culls have occupied the local papers on and off for years.

c) From personal experience - cleaning out their goddam boating lake in the middle of the night by dumping the entire contents into the Ise at 02:00, thinking (wrongly!) that no one would notice or be affected.

Acht stuff it. i'm going to head down to this. Just got my UR back on the road again, might as well stretch her legs a bit. Looks like it'll be a great day, plus I've missed the last 3 summers due to the car being laid up, so it'll be good to get out to a meet again.
