Don't mind running, would like to do more of it but after couple of miles of it my knees want to give up. Usually stick to cycling these days.

Not regularly because my knees haven't got much high impact left in them, but I still can when I want to. I was walking back from town through the park the other day when I came upon 2 joggers with all the gear, the trainers, pedometer and that warming up. I fancied a bit of sport, they seemed a bit bemused that someone in jeans and walking boots did their lap of the park that put them in a wheezing heap, then carried on for another half a lap.

Keeping with the keep fit theme, I went for a low-sugar* drink afterwards

*no suggar in fact, it'd all fermented

Jealous of all that space you have to run in. Running throught manchester is like smoking 20 bensons on the way round.

Oh and i dont have the compression socks but have a set of 'Skins' sort of tight ron hills if you like. Good to keep the cold off in the morning plus stops me getting cramp.

I used to live in south Manchester. We used to go across the A6 near longsight and onto a train line to the back of Stockport.

Its only since i moved to the city centre really. I lived in didsbury and ran along the mersey there, moving back in the summer, just in time to train for the great north run like.

Well that does sound like the answer i know, but i had an experience so bad on one of my runs on a canal in manchester that its put me off, at least for the mean time.

Heaton park is the best place to go, just have to drive to get there.
