Surely that is governed by the speed on your connection?
I browse the forum on my N95 using the Opera Mobile/Skyfire browsers and its perfectly fast enough as it is, so cant see how it would be any better/quicker?
because you're not downloading the whole page and the framework of the php bb site.

it's also easier to view as it's made specifically for mobile phones. The text is all very readable without zooming in etc.
I normally use safari to browse on the go, but the layout of Tapatalk is not as a browser.
If there are multiple pictures in a thread, then by using a browser, you'll be downloading all the images as well. If you have a data limit on your phone as a lot of people do, this can soon be used up on picture threads.

Mine sizes it to the screen without ever having to zoom, so not a problem
Do people still have data limits?! Id be surprised if anyone browsed any sites on line if they did.
Anyway, I dont want to appear to be knocking it, Im sure it will be useful for some, but nothing to be gained for myself

No use to me, my mobile doesn't even have bluetooth! Cannot get work to upgrade at the moment thanks to recession cutbacks either so this is a no-go for me for the foreseable future...

I guess they do as a lot of mobile tariffs show up as having data limits Unless on a wifi connection!. If you're on a wi-fi connection, then that ain't a problem, but wi-fi isn't always available is it!
Downloading a whole forum page can be slowwwwwwwww with a normal phone data connection.
Mine sizes to screen as well, just makes things small to read

Just to add the tapatalk app is nothing like a browser and you won't see Classic Audi as a browser.
Some forums opt for a lite version of phpbb for the mobile which basically just looks pants.

If you download the lite version (the free one with limited features) you'll be able to see what I mean.

Anything that reduces overheads speeds up browsing. The less in-line images, the better, even on a normal computer, let alone a 3G/GPRS/whatever mobile connection. And yes, many of us still have data limits on our mobile accounts. I suppress images (client side) as a rule... if I want to see the image, I follow the link.

They say a picture paints a thousand words, but 10kB of words tells me a lot more than a 10kB picture ever can!

We all fall in to the same bloody trap: faster computers, faster data means we can do more which means we need faster computers, faster data and on and on it goes (and grows). I was quite happy reading "forums" back in the FIDONet days of the late 80's and early 90's with a 1200 baud modem on a 2MHz computer.

PS: thanks Alistair for the great feature! I already have something similar on my phone for phpBB sites and appreciate the similar choice here and any vBulletin, IPBoard, phpBB and SMF forums! 10/10
