Default Spotted in Birmingham

Spotted this enroute, through Birmingham, to the NEC this weekend. Owned by a friendly chap called Jos. Apparently all the running gear, interior etc was taken from an '86 model.

isn't it just an 86 wr with a sport quattro (GRP copy) bonnet on it.
Nice and shiny though and I hope you told him about us.

As I said spotted it enroute, so on the way back I stopped and knocked on the door. He said it was an '81 which had had all the running gear and interior from the later WR fitted. The only change Jos said he made was the sport bonnet.

To be polite I asked if I could take the pics for this website and told him all about it, so maybe another enthusiast will join us soon.

Yeah, if it was an '81 model surely the wipers would be on the opposite side???

DVLA says it's a 1981 model though.
