With E611 HAP,the VIN and engine capacity suggest it is an MB but it has a WR engine number.Strange,something not quite right there.

as with everything it can be wrong at times , its only as good as the person entering the details at the time , is a strange one though

SWMBO bought a grand new BMW 320d MSport touring, got the log book which said 3 door; after a protracted call to Dvla, then BMW, then Dvla, it was sorted.
Not sure about the sentiment that most surviving yes will have had a bang etc by now; by the very fact they are older and cherished I'd have thought they're used less and run less risk of theft or damage?
Anyway, the yellow-peril; if the owner has been economical with the truth about its ahem, history, what else has he been economical with?
