Top mount tool size for b2 CQ ?
Can anybody tell me what size top mount tool I need for b2 Coupe Quattro?
Can't find the one I did have and car is at the garage. It's the two pronged hollow nut thing I'm after. Last edited by Gaz; 27-07-22 at 05:55 AM. |

Agreed.
Also, I've only ever used a big screwdriver. Last one I did the previous mechanic did it up with their eyelids judging by how loose it was...

Cheers everyone!
Second question, I might now need new nuts as they have been damaged. |

It is vital that when fitted the nyloc nut that the damper piston is held from turning with a hex head key while the nut is tightened. A loose or backed off gland nuts generally results in a ‘chattering’ from the suspension. |

I'm not super familiar with B2 front top mounts, However I can tell you that tool in you first post is used for disassembling strut's once off the car.
Any garage worth their salt could knock up on of those tools from an old socket in ten minutes, that what I use.
