That's a short stroke 2.0 four pot if I'm not mistaken. The MK1/MK2 Golf boy's were quite keen on these at one stage as they're more free revving and better for tuning (especially in K-jet cars) than the long stoke 2.0's found in MK3 GTi's etc. I got £100 for the last decent one of these I sold about six years ago and that was just a complete block, no head and other odds and sods

LOL, well at free it's certainly a bargain!

I also seem to recall the throttle body's being quite sought after at on stage by the same crowd as an upgrade for 1.8 K-jet Scirroco's and Golfs etc, the chokes being a couple of mm larger and a direct fit. I think I even installed one to my own Scirroco GTX back in the late 1990's, probably made little to no difference whatsoever but I really can't remember.

Just thought I'd mention it as if your active in VW circles someone might be very pleased with that lot and it does seem a pity to have to scrap it.

Pretty sure that ISV is the same as a 3B S2 item so I wouldn't bin that, presuming it's salvageable.

Yes, this is correct-or at least there WAS a larger throttle and it was a direct fit. I did this to my 8v golf, or perhaps the 16v, or the 2.0 JS engine 90??

Cheers Stuart, thought so.

Now I've racked my brain it was definitely from a 2.0 8V Audi engine of this vintage, I can actually recall taking mine off a 1985 Audi 80 Sport I broke (the thinking mans Golf GTi) and fitting to my 1987 Scirroco GTX.

Yes! I did the same thing-i was going to write it was from an 80 sport (B/C reg) but couldn't be sure. I am sure now that you've confirmed it!
