It's usually the little pull handles at the sides that stick or break when you try to release them. They are fragile so be careful

I used these glass lifters to allow me to force up the rear off the sunroof using plywood sheets to prevent damage etc with a length of timber. This allowed me to get release agent in where needed and aid things along.

If you can get this height without breaking anything, you could then try and tap the carriage forward gently to break the corrosion grip as in this next pic, if you understand my meaning?
