Ok so I have the door cards off to retrim at the moment. Still using the car.
Today I managed to touch the driver's window switch to the metal door frame. Small spark and both windows (which were down) are now inoperable. I replaced No. 343 relay under the dash with a possible good one but it's a No. 367. The passenger window is fine now and working properly but the drivers window only goes down, no matter which way the button was pressed. I'll get a new (correct) relay in time BUT now the wires are guitar string tight. And the glass is all the way down. The window and runners are out of the car now. Is there anyway to manually unwind the mechanism? I can't release the guide wire now as it's too tight. I'd like to just get the window up temporarily overnight at least. Cheers Graeme |
