This is a rather boring subject but it will make a huge difference to my resto if someone can help me. The previous owner of my '82 Audi 200 put reflective strips all over the car about 15 years ago, they are amazingly difficult to remove and look stupid. The worse ones are over the aluminium chrome inserts along all the door bump strips.
Here's what I've tried on my test sample so far; boiling water, soldering iron, white spirits, nail varnish remover, gunk tar remover. All have failed to do anything - the boiling water ruins the bump strip. The sticker chips off about a square mm at a time. I can't ruin the chrome or rubber to do this job, but it needs doing. Any advice? My next step is to use Nitromorse Reflective-strip.jpg |
