Default 200 5t Hall Sensor part number

Hi,

I think my ignition hall sensor has packed up (maybe because I accidentally connected the battery charger in reverse recently)

Anyway, my car is a 1982 C2 200 5T, and as far as I can make out the part number for the Type C2 and later C3 is the same...035998065, and therefore I assume the part is the same.

The problem is I can only find a Hall sensor with this number advertised as for a C3 model...

I wonder, does anyone know if these really are the same part? I.e., will a C3 Hall sensor be the right part for a C2 model as well?

Or perhaps where I might find a complete new distributor....!!!

Grateful for any thought.

It's a common part fitted to lots of different cars.

I wouldn't worry about C2 / C3 differences. It was also used on VW campers so should be easy to find

Hi,

Many thanks for this information...it is very reassuring.

I got a bit spooked for some reason on this one, but I think I will buy the part now. I mean it is not very expensive anyway, but it happens the car is with a garage at the moment...and they have been very helpful so I wanted to get the right part if I can.

Thanks again.

Unfortunately the later C3 Hall sensor part is not quite the same...well the Hall sensor maybe the same, but it has a slightly different adaptor socket into the loom. Not sure if it is going to work, but I think the garage are going to try and fit the sensor into the existing loom connector.

However, a replacement distributor would be the ideal...but I just can't find one (without damage). So a long shot, but does anyone happen to have a distributor for a 1982 C2 Audi 2005t (VAG 035905206H, Bosch Nos 0237025013) they would like to sell?

Hi,

Thanks very much for that. I have actually got this one in my sights, but the postage time and (to be frank) the seller's feedback caused me to pause and see if maybe one was about here first.

But it is the right part...and if some adaption of the plug does not work then it will probably have to be my next option.
