Heater Matrix removal

Hi, I have a 89 Coupe Quattro and well just put my hand behind the dash in the passenger footwell and it seems like my heater matrix is leaking...yay

How do you remove the heater matrix, does it require the dash to be removed?

Dare I say it, its not too hard if you accept it's a plod through... Trying to do it in a rush/afternoon just isn't an option... If you get up early, crack on and think, right, okay, I want the dash out and matrix on the drive by 5pm, you'll be pleasantly surprised how far you've got by lunch... Just make sure you've got all the parts/screws etc itemsed.. and if you can, photo each stage (especially the wiring)... Allow day 2 for refitting.... Fingers crossed you'll be up and running again by mid-afternoon...

Thanks for the help man, read the manual again and like you said it doesnt sound too bad. Most off the work i have already done doing other bits and bobs, not to worry i think i will take it slowly, dont need anything else going wrong.
