Thinks thats going to be too short!
Unfortunately most of the late 80's early 90's model use a cable shortened from the Type 44 one so can't even use a used one.
Think I have managed to source the right part now. Took a bit of detective work including actually having to talk to someone, how old fashioned! Frustratingly these are under $10 in the US and 10 euros elsewhere on the Continent but postage makes it uneconomic. There were a couple of places advertising on line but either out of stock or unable to navigate the site.
I'll report back when (if) it turns up and post the details in case anybody else might need one in the future.
