Default Audi - FAIL!

Confirmed at last - the next sport quattro is this:

http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/fr...-690bhp-hybrid

Too many cylinders, too many batteries and far too many pork pies (nearly two bloody tonnes).

Outside looks good but you need to lop a third off the weight and cylinders!

... and then you look at the price tag which is 200k. I don't know what Audi was thinking, almost 2 tonnes. They should've made 40-50k coupe.

Agreed, plenty of room between the TT and the R8 for this to have slotted into, but then, sign of the times I guess.

The Very rich are still very rich so can afford to chuck £125k on weekend motor

The well off, who once would have looked at £50-60k cars are now much fewer in numbers and the doing ok people are being f&*ked by the rich so they can stay rich and by the "you owe me a life" crowd at the bottom.

So I see the business rationale for aiming at the top end, but it doesn't make me any the less gutted that they decided to link this to the sport quattro, moreso the size, engine choice and weight than price (as I'm sure the price is in keeping with the original sport quattro!)

Just my view.

Audi isn't the same company that spurned the ur.

Itself created for a very exacting purpose.

Audi is medium volume designer car builder.

It's market is now "look at my car" buyers.

I think I know why Audi keep on f*cking this up.

Its because theyre not being led by enthusiasts, theyre being led by the sonic the hedgehog and playstation generation.
Eager only to please fringe eco groups with their co2 bullshit (try actually reading the truth on co2 and its environmental effects- yup, theres no global warming been happening) and bean counters.
This thing is undoubtedly technically advanced, sure, but how could i ever afford one?
Could many of us ever go out and actually buy one?
And would we want to?

Ive a challenge for the Audi top brass who think they know what people want, try this one:

Take your new eco box and park it next to an Ur quattro or sport and then let people vote on which one appeals most.
Then build the one they want not they one you think they want. Doh!
