email account query

one for the technical on here maybe , i lost access to my gmail email , dont know how i forgot my password tbh

, thing is i had no mobile number and hadnt it linked to another account is there anyway of retrieving it or how do i go about it , the google help isnt very helpful at all

Well done!

When I lost access to a hotmail account I had (crazy ex got into account and changed password in an attempt to "win me back!") I ended up contacting hotmail and giving as much detail as I could about the account, roughly when it was set up, details of any known emails received and sent, details of IP provider and pc from where I usually accessed the account, things like that. They kindly reset my password and sent me the link to my account so I could regain access.

Might be that Google can do the same for you?

Dont you have to answer a security question? Such as your favorite pet/town/school etc

I had to go through this recently

options are/were, I think

they can send a passcode to a mobile number if you previously registered it
or
a reset to an alternate email address

but it was quite straight forward

aye went through an automated list of questions etc , but it still didnt let me reset it

Have you not got another mobile phone/laptop or computer that could still be logged in to your email account? even though you havent used it such device for a while...you could still be logged in
