stiff clutch, simply due to spring?

I've noticed that the clutch on both my Audi 80 B2 and Coupe GT are almost as hard as my upgraded clutch in my Nissan S13.

Is this simply due to the spring in the clutch system? In this case my idea would be to take it out and have a softer one made...

AFAIK that's simply an audi and that's it. Don't drive that nissan and you won't notice that audi stock clutch requires some effort
