Default insurance no claims bonus?

can anybody answer this question for me?

since having my accident, I've let my insurance run out, as i've not had a car to drive..

No one else was involved, so i saw no point in informing the insurance company and making a claim as it would have been a pointless waist of my NCB.

however, can anybody tell me how long i can go with out insuring anything before i lose my no claims bonus?

a friend of mine reckons its only 3 months? if so, it means i don't have a lot of time to sort something out.

does anybody know?

It might be longer than that. My girlfriend rang her old insurance company about 2 years after her last policy ran out, and they allowed her loads of years ncb.

Give them a ring and see what they say.

Might pay you to cantact them to get a letter stating how much NCB you have, just to pop 'on file' for the future.

Were you not insured under a classic policy with yours?
Just wondered as they don't accrue an NCB.

Give them a call and if you are going to lose it insure the car as parked up VOR, should cost very little and keep your NCB
