Default Flookburgh steam rally report

Back now and reflecting on a fantastic weekend in Cumbria at the Flookburgh Steam festival. Will get the vids I got sorted soon, but for now....
Arrived on the Friday and went up Gummors How and when we got back I amazingly heard a familiar 5 cylinder engine and after waving the car down stopped for a quick chat before parting until the following morning at the show.
More to follow

fantastic weekend courtesy of the Audi Driver Club, thank you for letting a classic audi chap on the stand.

Trawling through a fair old whack of photo's. Had a great run back down the M6 with Dave in front, then behing, then in front again and a couple of youngster's in an A4 hooked along with us for a few miles. How we did chuckle

Yep the stickered up A4 that caught us up was Roy and son Haydn, who left the show 10 minutes before us but took the wrong route out and got stuck behind the steam bus after Cark. He couldn't believe we got so far ahead... Local knowledge helped there
Car ran well once it had got on the Motorway and got some airflow through the engine bay. Very hesitant after being stuck in traffic though Martyn might think it was quick it is normally a LOT quicker. Martyn's car looked well in front too.

Some more pics from the show. First show this year where I didn't get drenched and all the better for it though Jaytee looked the spitting image of a lobster
The engine pic is of Simon Holroyds Ur quattro, fitted with luminition injection and a confirmed 300+ bhp after being set up by Keith Murray...

Hang on to your knickersStill to come once I sort all these pics...
There were 6 cars on the Club stand, like to have had more but the guy in charge has put a limit on Club entries.
As well as my Cq, there was Martyn and Jill in Gobi, Sam and Isobel in his ever improving 20vt Ur, Dean and his Dad from Club Audi in a 100S coupe, (although still in his Dads name he cannot drive it now so Dean looks after / drives it for him), Simon from Club Audi in his 300bhp Wr Ur and John (club Audi) in his standard bar the wheels Cq. Being an airfield there was only the Gazebo on the Saturday to protect you from the sun and explains why my Ellen, Lynn and Jill in particular ended up like lobsters
Isobel brought some home made tit bits, so thanks for that and we had a pleasant evening in the Swan Inn restaurant and after Martyn, got forcful with the staff about portion sizes for Lynn and Jill they gave us their main courses for free, thanks Martyn. Quality was not an issue I would like to add
Was told the organisers are trying to get a few more clubs in next year thanks to lots of enquiries, so lets hope we can get a couple more on the stand.
Thanks to all for coming and hope you all had a good time
Had a good result at the archery too
Try and get these vids done today too.

Thumbs up Great pics.

Looks like,I missed a good show.
My Uncle would have loved to have seen the tractors and steam engines.
