The AAN version was the later lump dropped into the UrS4/6 developing 230bhp and 258ft lb, also the intake tract differs from the ABY & 3B in that the AAN inlet manifold is on the right side as you look at it whereas the ABY/3B is fed into the back if the engine block.... I think it also has a slightly less output of 220bhp and 228ft lb of torque... And a different ecu with a revised mapping.
![]() also the AAN spawned the RS2 version which was tweaked by Porsche, I can't say I have seen an ABY/3B specced up to RS2 level I think the AAN is more accessable to work on as well, also the mating to a 6 speed manual or 5 speed box may have issues as well.I know of 2 S2's that was coded as an ABY 3B with a 5 speed box because at the time Audi had reliability issues on the 6 speed box.

Essentially the same, especially when looking to use them to upgrade a different chassis altogether.
The big difference was really between 3B (similar to RR?) and ABY (similar to AAN), with respect to ignition components. I hope to be getting my hands on one of these 4 options later in the year, if all goes well. So any more comprehensive info would be most useful.
