thought you were a crabfat!

I like the Tornados but also have a soft spot for Jaguar GR1s, and my all time favourite airplane, the Lightning...... (closely followed by the Vulcan..... - being your age, I bet you've never seen "Rolling Thunder" - 4 Vulcans flying in formation diamond shape.....).

Here is XH588 - the Vulcan that;s been restored flying again in October 2007......

I am a mechanical engineer, doing nuclear decommissioning. I did have a couple of years as a painter/decorator/plasterer/handyman though. I am 33.

Crab, crabfat - (RN) A member of the Royal Air Force. From the light blue color of the uniform, which is the same as that of the grease (known as ‘crabfat’) used on gun breeches, etc., in the RN. Accounts vary, but apparently the grease was called ‘crabfat’ because it resembled in color the ointment used to treat sailors for ‘crabs’ (pediculosis pubis, genital lice), and of which fat was a major constituent.

I do car repairs and occasionally buy and sell cars, do a bit of selling on ebay and some legal work, county court stuff mainly. Used to do it full time, tried to give it up, but still end up doing it sometimes to help mates out etc.
I do counselling as well (did the training a few years ago), and some voluntary work.

I've bought and sold a few light damaged cars, but it's harder to earn a decent amount now, due to so many people getting in on it. There was a time (back a few years ago - late 80s I suppose) when it was possible to buy a damaged car, do a good repair and more than triple your money, but in more recent times, it's been a struggle to make any profit. (insurance companies selling them for more money - greedy $ods)

Still would love to buy a lightly damaged car and fix it to use for myself, but something like Honda S2000 or even an MX5 (I don't car about hairdressers, but then a Russian powerlifter in there would look as weird)

Still, would be nice to have a "modern" type toy in the garage as well.

And
and

and
and
and............

Crabfat isn't a particularly endearing term.

Usually preceded by "f**king..."

Steve

PS I have spent most of my working life within RN circles, so I am biased towards them...
PPS Check out WAFU too....
