God the S1 was an awesome bit of kit, i think the speed is correct.

Im watching it with the volume at full so my unborn baby boy recognises the noise of a wastgate chattering

That's the real deal ..... Proper hairy arsed cars driven by proper drivers ..... That's why I fell in love with the Quattro ....

it's probably why i fell in love with cycling at the time - nothing to do with hairy arses i might add!! the bikes were amazing back in the 80s as were the riders - real characters and made cycling so thrilling to watch as there were always loads of riders that could potentially win a race. none of the schumacher syndrome back then!

"OH HOW EXCITING!! HE'S OVERTAKEN ANOTHER DRIVER! THAT'S SO EXCITING!! LET'S TALK ABOUT HOW EXCITING THAT OVERTAKING MANOEUVRE WAS! LET'S TALK ABOUT IT AGAIN AND AGAIN!! A REPLAY ANYONE?!! OH FORMULA ONE - IT'S SO EXCITING!!"

You have to remember that the S1 was faster then an F1 car and the S1 did it on all road (tarmac) and forest (the loose stuff) surfaces come rain or shine..

aye, truly amazing - i must invest in some 80s rallying dvds. excuse my ignorance, but i've never heard of this car being referred to as an "S1" - is this why the top of the range production cars were called s2, s4 etc?
