Default VDO Gauges B2 80

Good afternoon,

Wonder if someone can help with a quick question, or rather questions!

I've seen a set of B2 Coupe gauges that I want to fit to my 80 GL; the guy in the advert says they come with the loom, but on futher questioning he says 'it's the loom just into the console', so by my reckoning there should be quite a bit more wiring that should come with it.

Is this easy to get hold of or make?
Are the senders for the gauges easy to come by?
And how do they wire in to the lighting system so they come on with the lights?
Are they easy to fit?

I have looked in the Haynes for diagrams but they make no sense to me! LoL!

Any help very much appreciated!

I did someone selling the wiring on ebay a few months ago, but i think you would need to get extra wiring for your senders as its just the loom from guages (that would then connect to wiring from senders)

Im pretty sure Golf Gti 1781cc dx has the senders

i fitted a set in my 90 CD and my 2 door, the loom just replaces the original one.. think the only sender you need then is oil temp, it was wired on my 90, but i got a temp sender i had spare tapped into the location on the oil pump, if that helps any..

How hard it is? Easy. Ok, you can argue that it's easy for me , as I'm able to put together climate control from pile of various parts, but still - it's just three wires + two wires for senders.

You think wrong - how about oil pressure, where that will come from?

oil pressure is electric on the B2, its pre wired into the loom..

Don't confuse oil pressure switches for pressure warning light relay with oil pressure sender for gauge - it's not prewired and there should be no such sensor in engine.
