Has anyone fitted a 2.8 30v v6 into a b4 80? Looks like it would be a good upgrade from the 12v 2.6 going from 110kw to 142kw

Addicted on here has fitted a 2.6 V6 to his 2 door 80, not seen a 30v one done yet though.

Fast28 (si) made his own SC setup to his 2.8cq. The swapped out then engine for a 30v 2.8 and used a pes charger. About 2008 I would say. The build is on audifans, really nice bloke.
From memoryhe said the swap was easy, hardest bit being the ignition/ loom, dashboard hacks Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk

The 30v 2.8 is capable of a more power with not very much tweaks. More tuning potential than the ABC or the AAH

a friend of mine has a 30V 80 avant, bought it as is though, but can vouch for the 30V being much more powerfull compared to the 12V 2.8.
If my cabby was a keeper I'd love a 30V in it. |

and iirc the 30v engines can be rechipped to about 220 bhp, especially with a decent exhaust.
I remember reading at the time they came out that due to some cut off point in German insurance they were 'artificially restricted' by the factory software. |

I saw some RR graphs of one with filter exhaust and chip just shy of 230bhp, a bit like the 2.8 BMW lump of same era.
