Default Rothman A2's

Anyone have any photos of the A2's in Rothmans livery. Figure its around the 1983-4 period. Parts from one were located in Dubai several years ago and went to the US for James Bufkin's car (side panels, grill, dash,) regretably the rest of the car was crushed.
Havent been able to locate any shots of a complete vehicle.
Any help appreciated....
Thanks

Im sure i read somewhere that the iraqis looted all the goodies from the rothmans outfits and it was destroyed by the US gunships as they fled back over the border.
Or am i talking bullocks?

No I think you will find that is basically what happened in a nutshell.

In case you missed the thread look at the one just further down in this section titled 'David Sutton Chrismas video,' it shows the Rothmans Audi and I did put on a YouTube vid of Saeed in action. That particular car, as far as I know, still survives but where I know not. As I explained in the thread I did a load of work on that particular car in the nineties when it resided in Warwick I have since found out it was sold but to who and where I don’t know

David Sutton asserts that the loss of the rally team due to the Iraqi invasion of Qatar and all the cars equipment etc being looted and / or destroyed is what sent him into bankruptcy. How many of the rally cars were actually destroyed is unknown, whether any will eventually turn up in 'private' collections at some date in the future will be interesting to see.

Twas Kuwait they invaded not Qatar, sorry to anal but I used to live there. The only thing Iraq did to Qatar was fire a scud that overshot Bahrain, (where the US had there R&R base) and very nearly wipe out the one an only booze shop in the country..........now that would have been war....

Thanks for replies guys. So we dont get off track :
Iraqi's didnt touch Dubai or Qatar ( I was in Doha thru IW#1 and #2). Apparently one of the vehicles ended up in a wreckers yard in Dubai UAE in 2004-2003 or earlier as far as can be determined. The shell was crushed but the wrecker kept the front and rear body panels, front grill and bumper assy, interior dash , engine (stock James thinks but what buildup??) gearbox and rear trunk assy and wing. These were "rescued" in, I think 2004-5 and bought and shipped to the US for use in another A2. I've seen photos of the disassembled pieces but wonder if anyone has photos of the complete car in action or can add anything to the history of this unit. Currently doing a projected 3 year rebuild/recreation build of an A2 and ran into the story of these parts while trying to local some original components for our project. We were considering a Rothmans colour scheme rather than the factory colours, hence the questions.
Cheers

that is the right car but that car went back to uk at the end of 88 and was sold on and still exisits - the car found in dubai would have been the old A1 practice car that was converted to A2 spec more or less.
