Who makes the after Market ones Ian? It could still be Bosch but not wrapped up in corporate wrapping and as a result your not paying for it's expensive branded box !

Have you tried at TMS for a pump?

TMS £55 + vat made by fuelmart,i've never had such a variety of prices for a part! As long as it does the job and delivers fuel at the right pressure thats all that matters, what do you reckon ?

Increase pressure is what you want, but you are no better off unless you have have the increased delivery, the flow, to go with it. Brian and I were chatting some weeks ago about this and I think it was the standard Audi KV pump that runs at a higher pressure than a Bosch 044, but, the flow rate is nowhere near that of the motorsport item.

My advice would be, if price is important, compare the numbers and if you find an equivalent spec item to the 044 and get that. If not I would buy a Bosch one.

Default On the way!

Bosch it is! and on the way, what swung it was the aftermarket co wanted a deposit for a £55 +vat pump before they'd order, and i'd have to drive 30 miles to place said deposit, and Bosch?, well! Bosch!!,job done.I intend on keeping the car so she'll be getting quality partsMany thanks for the advice
