Bloody hell that's one of the most documented 80's in the U.K.

Bought originally by the late Bob Wyse, the founder and Editor of Safer Motoring (VW Motoring) magazine. From memory the registration is BMJ331L, its a 1500GL model in Marathon metallic.

It featured in tests and long term running reports until his death in 1982, it did indeed have a webasto roof fitted and sported wolfrace wheels at one time.

Bob did incredible mileages and it clocked 300,000 it no time albeit on 3 short motors due to oil consumption, Audi even used it in a press add, when it passed an MOT showing a mileage of 10,000 when it was actually, 100,000.

I'll go in the loft tomorrow and find some period pictures of it.

No not exactly but more magazine articles than any other Audi I can think of, it influenced a lot of aircooled journalists that this was the way forward, Peter Noad swapped his NSU TT for an 80GT based on his experience of this very car and a road test of a new 80GT Audi press car.
