Default Decisions, decisions

Once every 4 years I get to choose my new company hack and today the time came round again. So armed with spreadsheet, CO2 figures, tax bands etc I've been narrwoing the field. Target is to save as much as possible but still have something with a smidgeon of luxury. Target savings are >£3000 per year.

One thing is this will mean the end of my 12 year Volvo relationship but time to move on.

So after much deliberation we are down to this

Citroen C5 Exclusive - not as bad as I thought. Got the build quality right up there, comes absolutely loaded and more than a match for the Volvo. Funky as feck interior and offers the practicality I need at the moment

Then there's this.

A3 Sportback Quattro Black edition

not quite as practical (tis a bit small), not quite as loaded (but a bit more than I expected) and it offers the same savings(within a tenner)

Posting this on here may not be a good idea given there's a bit of a bias but what do you reckon?

If it was between the Citroen and the A3, I'd plump for the Citroen all day long.

As much as it pains me, I'd agree. You'll want a car that'll wrap you up and make 'travel' on the UK's motorway network as acceptable as possible.

I bet Martyn wasn't expecting that!...

Mind, it is a 'classic' Audi forum.

The C5 from what I've read and heard is the best they have ever built - but thats not saying a lot ! Me I'd have the A3 but I don't need big car - the Citroen is certainly better value and gives you the space you need - the A3 would feel a lot smaller after the Volvo

Spent 5 days driving a C5 round Paris, well put together, load of toys and was a nice comfortable drive.

The A3 is an over priced Golf, the dash is horrible and suspension is harsh.
