Default bloody fuel pump!

Was going up Tog Hill this afternoon, about 1630. Big hill on the edge of the Cotswolds between Bristol and Chippenham in the 80 Sport.

Just overtook a line of cars, pulled in (2 lanes up, 1 lane down), then the car died completely.

No petrol or oil flowing out, no coolant flowing out. Checked the cambelt. All fine.

Phoned AA, 40 minutes later he arrives, tows me to a layby.

Does a few basic diagnostics.

Result: fuel pump.

He hit it wiv an ammer and got it going, and he followed me to the garage, where I left the car. Wifey picked me up.

Looks like an easy job for the garage to do.

Just a good job I had a high vis jacket in my car, and a torch.

Well......

After a friends wedding nearby, the way back to drop friends off in bath took us past......

Wife was pregnant in the summer, so was driving.

6 of us in the "lovebus".

Drove into car park with doors locked.

Parked up.

Flashed headlights (as instructed by one of our friends!!!!!), beeped the horn, drove round and round a couple of times.

Then got out of there!!!

Needless to say 5 of us were out of our faces!!!

Don't worry Steve none of the parts vans that will deliver your shiney new fuel pump will have winter tyres fitted so your Audi will be standed at the garage until the big freeze rendering your winter tyres next to useless
