I use clay bars regularly on cars.
1 thing you have to remember is lube, lube and then lube some more!
If you don't use plenty of lube you will marr the paint!
Apply only a gentle amount of pressure. Don't use finger tips, but the pads of your fingers, lube the car using quick detailer and then gently drag the clay bar over the are you are working on. work in areas of no more than 12" 's square at any time. You'll be surprised just how much crap you will lift from the paint.
and the paint will feel like glass after you've done it.
