Interesting, am 12,000 miles away in New Zealand and have just seen this thread.
My old car

, owned by me from 1996 (1 owner prior) until July last year when I gave it (free, gratis & for nothing - needed work on oil cooler matrix and pipes, would not hold oil) to a mate to keep/repair when I emigrated here to NZ 'cos I could not bring it with (NZ would not certify it - too old & ungreen! Was heartbroken to let it go). Seems he mended it and sold it on to this bloke, I knew my mate had got it through an MOT in January, did not know he had sold it.
There are 1 or 2 inconsistencies in this guy's ebay ad. The mileage is correct, it would appear to have done no more than 2k miles max since last year, the engine is a 2B not a 1B. The quoted top end overhaul, recon torque converter and new turbo I had done - which was at @120,000 miles and some 8/9 years ago now. Car did have full main dealer/audi specialist history with all receipts to prove and spare key and was in bloody good nick, apart from rust coming through on front wings in the wheelarch area. No 'history' for last 2 years as car has not gone anywhere.
Exhaust is factory fit s/steel. Alloys have been changed from original's (no idea why) and the stereo is not the original I left in it either. The all red rear lamp units were fitted by me, bought from Luxembourg some 4/5 year ago. There are no 'extra' gauges etc it's a standard spec late 1988 (1989 model year) 200 with optional full leather. The paint colour is Nautic Blue.
Other than the rusted out oil cooler pipes, everything worked when I left and it was a beautiful car to drive. Never been smoked in and usually only me in it so interior is mint. So all he's had to do is wash it!. Will try and find out from my mate how much this guy paid for it.
ps. I can guarantee that until12 months ago it had never been in an accident, never raced or thrashed and always loved. Serviced every year and never failed an MOT. Would love it to go to a good home.
pps all brake discs, pads and some flexi pipes were replaced by my garage in 2007 - no idea why he should have had to touch them as it stopped on a sixpence. Oh, and the c/l doesn't work from driver's door not 'cos of broken plastic clip thingy but 'cos someone tried to jemmy the lock one night about 4 years ago when the car was parked outside the house. Caught them in the act!. The whole lock barrel mechanism on that door needs replaced to be perfect, but I just used to open it from the passenger door! And unless he's had a new one fitted, the alarm does not work.
