Well, this is a turn up for the books, getting back to the noise from the back of the engine, with the gear box off and clutch and cover removed, I noticed one of the flywheel bolts to crank was damaged on the edge, thought nothing of it, and removed it, when unscrewing it something dawned on me, easy to remove with my fingers, no lock tight on bolt thread, due to the crank case being sealed type system, the engine was drawing air through the edge of the damaged bolt and down the thread of the bolt, yes sounds daft, but refitted clutch and cover, gear box and have drove the car for many miles now with no noise from back of engine, calling this one solved, sometime ago.
