The diameter of the hole in the middle
Of the pulley is much larger than the diameter of the big bolt’s shaft.
It must be designed that way on purpose. I’ve just had another look at mine and I would swear that The large bolt will fit through the hole on my pulley. Yes it’s a tight fit but the big bolt does not hold the pulley to the gear.
Betting a beer to anyone who has pictures of them apart and can prove the big bolt won’t fit through the hole.
So it’s a win win...

You can see where the surface of the pulley has been damaged by the undoing of the small bolts. There is no damage-no scrapes at all-around the large centre bolt, so it must be possible to remove the pulley without removing that bolt.
