A perfect example of why MOT exemption for older vehicles is a terrible idea.
I just put the quattro though it's MOT last week. Cost about £35 which is a bargain price for someone to get it up on a ramp and give it a good inspection once a year.
Stuff which is roadworthy should pass, stuff which isn't will fail. Why give exemptions based on age?
Tax exemption is a much better idea. I pay the same for my quattro that does 500 miles in a busy year as I pay for my daily driver, which is a 2015 Dodge Challenger with a 6.4l petrol V8 (although the Dodge does have zero emissions - it says so on the V5!)
