Unexpectedly, I am selling my winter season toy - a 5 cylinder, Audi Coupe quattro 20V (7a) as a project. I have owned it for 1.5 years, it stood for around 9 years before I bought it, so I was told by previous owner. Strangely the car is/was very poorly spec'ed. No electric windows, no sunroof, cheap interior, etc.. Since then I have replaced the whole interior to a dark blue velour, replaced faulty heater matrix (what a job that was!), one wishbone, cambelt, alternator belt, upgraded air intake, by removing the air box and installing a cone filter, replaced lamda sensor, new spark plugs, airflow meter, radiator, etc.. It has a massive history file full of receipts, etc. Got few spares parts for it too. Car has Powerflow stainless exhaust system with receipt (removed mid box, way too loud now, but still got the box).
Bad bits (there's loads of them):
Manual windows don't work - replacement mechanisms are on the way.
It does not run as it should - might be ignition (timing) problem, maybe fuel pump? (Lack of power)
Doesn't run (idle) when cold - OK after 45 seconds driving it.
Suspension a bit rusty.
Roof lining cloth has gone, looks very messy.
Needs full respray, as it's been resprayed in the past - very badly.
Aftermarket sunroof fitted - not working, I now even removed it's motor.
Blower only works on positions 3 and 4 - common issue.
Drivers seat doesn't recline by lifting the handle up.
Fog lights don't work, spot lights too as they need proper wiring up.
Windscreen wiper stalk needs looking into as wipers don't go back in their position when using first position to clean clean the windscreen.
Passenger door handle doesn't go back automatically when opening doors.
Exhaust blowing and was messed around with before when rejoining it together.
Passenger side, front suspension has some play.
Odometer stopped working after I did 128 miles in the car.
I'm sure there's other things which I forgot, BUT the car is still being used by me daily, engine, gearbox runs sweet. Mileage shows just over 200k, so just run in
Note: it does look good in the pictures and from the distance, reality is slightly different. Selling it as a project. Will come with different wheels, as I'm keeping these. Needs to be seen really. Would love to see it being restored but it's up to the new owner to -be. Hard to price these things, I know what's worth a bit of money in it, so I'll try £900 ONO? More pics by request.
