On the way back down all the marshalls stationed on the hairpin lined up and wiped their brows in unison at me .
After scaring myself, I managed a decent enough time in the afternoon to receive a trophy for second place.
On Sunday the times improved (apart from the brief afternoon shower) and I managed to smash my previous best time of 44.49 with a 44.48 . It's a step in the right direction I suppose.
It was good enough to take second again, but with fewer in the class there was only a first place trophy .
There were a couple of S5's entered on the second day. They both had superchargers fitted and were pushing out over 600 horsepower!!!
Their quickest time was 46.29, so the Classic Audi was nearly 2 seconds quicker .

Glad you came out of the slither & slide unscathed with just brown pants

The newer S5's might have 600 horses but they also weigh over 500Kg more than yours.
Drove a 2TDi version that we had for a pool car at work and not impressed. Great for sitting on the motorway but that's it.
Look forward to further updates
