IMHO I'd agree, they are more than capable of triggering ABS on hot dry tarmac, and will hold down from very high speed to stationary... The problem only occurs when excessive heat has built up, and this occurs when the car is taken outside it's operating envelope, be that tackling a downhill mountain hairpin pass at full boost, or 10 laps of Castle Combe... The other thing that kills them is indifferent braking technique, or brake 'rubbing', rather than 'in, convert momentum into heat, and off again'...
That said, the 993 monobloc brake conversion does inspire a lot more confidence in the S2's ability and reduces heat build up concerns.
