hard brake pedal

hi there, just bought a 2.6e coupe and the brake pedal seems very hard.
I don't know if it's meant to be as I've been used to driving an Alfa gta, and the misses' megane, so if someone could advise.
is the pedal generally quite stiff on a 95 coupe with no ABS ( I think )?
first audi I've had since I sold my 85 sport 10 yeas ago and need some help/advice..

cheers

ok open the bonnet and it does have abs ( should have done that first )!!
but is the pedal normally quite hard?

No.

It may be that the ABS pump is faulty, gives the same symptoms as no servo...

I think you will find it has an hydraulic servo and the Accumulator has failed £200

how do i make sure that it's the accumulator thingy???

you have a hard pedal and feels like you have a block of wood stuck under it,have a look at this though
