B4 Saloon Cabin Filter - How?

Fingers crossed I'm finally closing in on the real cause of the misfire on my 2.6 after a well known local hero, let's call him MikeS2, read my codes and found a bad coolant temp sensor 👍👍👍

So, while waiting for the new sensor to arrive, I've been looking at finally fitting the cabin filter that I bought last year. Problem is, I seem to be missing the filter housing (see photo).

I'm wondering if any kind soul with a B4 (preferably a 2.6 saloon) would be able to stick some pics up here of what's going on in the filter area? I really need to see how things fit together down in there so I know what parts to buy.

Ever since I bought the car, exhaust gases have found there way into the cabin when the car is sat stationary for any length of time due to the lack of a filter. The wife and I also get blasted in the eyes with debris flying out of the face vents if the car has sat for a couple of weeks, which isn't our favourite husband-wife experience!

So if someone could take the time to strip their own car down into bits, take some photos, and then upload them for me, that would be rather great....oh, and a part number would also be really appreciated.

Please guys...help me retain my eyesight, and keep me from being gassed every time I stop at a red light! 🤪😷https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...6fbece373b.jpg

The above might give you an idea of what bits you visually need??
Someone breaking one might be the best way to go, just get all the bits!
I'd be wary about using the above for part numbers unless you're sure it's for UK/RHD etc.

Excellent John. Thanks for this. Gives me a good starting point...and I've now got a new website to help get my car up to scratch! Cheers 👍

Excellent Mike, thanks. Was just about to have a look at the link that John kindly supplied, but this makes things crystal clear, and saves me a bit of uncertainty/time

Cheers again

7zap used to be better to navigate/find stuff, it's ok but it used to be good........or it could be my computing skills going south?!

I'm really enjoying looking through the diagrams. Only problem is I can already identify at least half a dozen bits that I'm probably going to be looking out for now, even though I'd never even thought about them previously! Might turn out to be an expensive site 😬

I'm at least safe for now because I've still to work out how the site actually works. Should have it sussed in time for Christmas though :)

(Can't believe I've used the 'C' word!)

Cheers Dave. I'll bear that in mind if it doesn't turn up.

That's actually just made me realise that I should probably ask around on here first before buying stuff on fleabay.

Do you have quite a lot of cheap, high quality B4 bits then Dave? 😁
