Detailing/polishing

quick question, got an Alpine White car arrived here Sunday, and it's polishing up really well, but there's a couple of areas I'd like some advice on please...

Firstly, on one wing there is some peeling laquor which produces a thin line at the peel point, is there a way of polishing /blending this out or minimising it without going mad... eg, repainting, attacking with a machine etc?

Secondly, and on a similar vein, there are several rather crude stone touch-ups that are 'beige' compared to the Alpine White around it... What's the best trick to blend these in, in a similar fashion?

Thanks in advance

Ian

The only way of dealing with the peeled lacquer is to relacquer the area. You should be able to blend in the lacquer fairly easily but you'll need to carefully wetsand the edges of the peeled area else it won't take properly. Again, with the stone chips, wet sand what you can down and then blow in some lacquer over the top.
Make the the new lacquer is slightly raised, then carefully wetsan back level again. 3000 grit if poss, if not 2000 grit but very carefully!
Then buff up with a course grade polsih, followed by medium grade and it should be pretty good by then.
