Audi 100 C1
Hi there,
Beautiful 100 you've got there! In your advert you mention that you have some spare parts....... do you by any chance have a pair of rear wheel cylinders? Or a front coil spring? I'm restoring a '73 100 at the moment and I'm struggling for these parts. If you could message me back or call/text on 07788 668600 I would be extremely grateful. Best regards, Chris. |

Coxy, no it is not register which is why the ad says it needs light mechanical recommisioning and registering -it would not be £3k if it were registered.
I have had this for years not and not had a chance to do anythng on it, the new engine in project 1 has developed a knock (and it is just build), same project has a frozen box (also new) and on project 2 there is a heap of welding, a new engine and paint required and that is for starters -can you see why I have not managed to work on the Audi (project 3) |
Hi Matt, i'm a new member & ideally i'm looking for a B1 80 but i like the look of your Audi 100, i was wondering how many miles away from the Heathrow area is it stored?
|
The car is in approx 10 miles from Heathrow; doubt it will fit in your hand luggage though
|
Like the humour, i live in Iver but not many people from outside the area have any idea where it is so i find it easier to say 'near Heathrow'. I expect you've been made plenty of stupid offers but is there any
negotiation, i know you haven't got time for tire kickers but as the car is only 10 miles away i'd like to have a look at it in the flesh, but if your not open to an offer to be honest there is probally no point in looking, i simply haven't got 3K, but it very tempting, i love early Audis and could give it a good home. |
John, good luck finding a good early Audi, I do not think my one is for you unless you can stump up the £3k.
If you can, let me know |
Surprised this hasn't sold, looks like a really solid example of a rare car. It isn't hard to register an older car in the UK, just get an MOT using the VIN number then pop to the local DVLA office. Cost's 170 quid including a tax disc, which this car doesn't need so it would only cost a little over 50.
Personally if I was looking to buy I'd rather register it myself, you get to be the first registered owner in UK that way with the V5 stating 0 previous owners. Did it with a Corrado G60 last year, very straight forward. |
Thank you for this -guys it really is that easy, £50 and you can be the first owner on the log book. Isn't that cool?
I did this with an ex italian beetle and I must say it was quite cool to be the only owner (as in like a new car's V5c). The inspection is only if they ask and this is to check chassis numbers are the same as you have claimed (paperwork supplied so unless you are can't fill in the form correctly you won't have any issues) Incidently there was a slightly rusty LHD 100 on Ebay at the weekend (not tax exempt either) and not registered at £5k; didn't sell but you'd have exactly the same issues with this (well, rust and LHD to deal with). It does show this is extremely fairly priced. Save a nice Audi from the crusher and let me spend the proceeds on mince pies (and a new engine for project 2) |
