Colin, good to catch up today. Hope you and Alan had a safe journey back up the road.....and that the Co-Op didn't disappoint !?
The museum was great, busy as well I thought which is good for them and the town. Took this on the way home, deserted roads is the norm for a Sunday! https://i996.photobucket.com/albums/...pskx2cjb5n.jpg |
Good to see you again John its been a while since our last get together, on our return from the Co-op another couple of cars parked up beside us.
The museum has been totally transformed into a modern look of Jim Clark's life, the existing garage on the site linked to the existing main museum building with a modern glass extension that may not sit well with many people but in my eye what they have created is a view into the past with a light and airy construction that is sympathetic to its location, as you walk in to the reception area you are greeted with the normal admission counter, you are directed to start the walk through of Jim Clark's motor sport life with all types of photos and memorabilia with description layed out in a time line, there is also a seating area with large screen playing on a loop a video of peoples memories of Jim Clark, also a trophy room and viewing area of two cars, In all it was just a nice place to visit on a end of summers day in the late summer sunshine, we had a late lunch sitting on the seats outside, Duns is quite a quite place on a Sunday apart form the odd tractor passing through filled with freshly cut corn or barley from the local farming area. https://i.imgur.com/TZSuuTa.jpg |
Colin, that's a better line-up !
