Any chance you have a corroded earth somewhere, which could discharge the battery?

As I said, car was eating batteries pre-Nov 2013. The garage brought in an electrical chap back then to try and find out what was discharging them. They fitted new coil pack as no out current (I think that was the reason anyway), new starter motor, and new battery. Don't recall anything being mentioned about corroded earth wires, but anything can happen in a year.

Even though the wing and bracket was new from Audi, and whilst it is a bolt on panel, I'm going to phone the bodyshop tm to see if any welding was involved. Will also contact garage to find out about battery warranty. Can't do much else before then, but hoping that they can pick it up tm to run some tests.

Will keep you posted.

This may be a "dur" question, but 'tas just been an issue on daughter's boyfriends Fabia. (Keep the snickering down please). WD40 into ignition barrel.
Lubed and released the whole thing.

Recognise u swapped them but still applies nevertheless.
His issue was being able to remove key before that final "clunk" of the ignition barrel. He didn't notice that, but it left his radio on.
Could be another avenue to look at, and exclude?

Good Luck!
Ste

Morning all ;)

Been on blower to the bodyshop and garage this morning...
No welding involved when the bodyshop replaced/resprayed bolt-on front wing.
Battery warranty is 2 years, so will be covered.

In so far as suggestion to spray ignition barrel with WD40 Steev, not sure that this will help to be honest. Reason for replacing ignition barrel/switch was basically because it was known by me (and had been reported during several MOT's and by Audi) as being sticky; I'd also read something about cracked switches being the likely cause of non-starting in hot weather (the heat expansion of broken area lessens connectivity?).
When it didn't start after wing replacement, both the bodyshop and myself thought that maybe the ignition barrel/switch had finally packed up, fortunately I had already purchased a replacement from Audi, but it was only after fitting it that the starter motor was then diagnosed as being faulty. In any case, my key doesn't come out unless in '0' position, and my radio has removable front; hasn't been in the car for eyons as try to keep anything that will likely drain the battery to minimum in view of low everyday mileage. Also have no reason to doubt a genuine Audi part, the old switch was almost certainly frazzled and I've not had any hot weather start issues since, nor stickiness for that matter; it's also doing what it should, just the s/motor and battery that aren't! - but thanks for the advice.

Okay, off now to clear the snow off my car, garage are hoping to pick it up later today, and friend is picking me up soon so that I can go and get a battery charger. BBL. ;)

Been to Lidl, no battery chargers in sight, offer was two weeks ago though, so must have sold out. :(

Garage not picked up my car today either, after saying his morning that they would, so I'm a bit hacked off with them right now. :grr:

Why not try eBay as they're loads on there and it will be delivered to your door? I'm sure the guys on here will advise you on what specification is best for your needs. I have a very basic one but it seems to do the trick.
