Funny that.... i'll digress with a short story of pig headedness and my distaining anger everytime i see a Scooby engine bay...
First time i worked in a garage, my friend turned up on my first day at 9:15 with his STi saying it felt like it was missing under load... I took it for a drive and sure enough it was. Got back and my first job was remove and inspect spark plugs.... Anybody whose owned a scooby will know the cylinder heads lie parallel to the chassis rails, the rocker covers are literally 2" from the rails..... 25mins to remove 4 spark plugs!
We worked out it was down on cylinder 2 so obvious choice was to drop the engine and then inspect. 95mins is book time to completely remove the engine. Garage owner (who is high up in racing, owns an ex- DTM JCB sponsored Astra touring car and likes to see himself as that god figure everyone should obey) disagrees and says cylinder head off in situ.....
4hrs later and heads off.... Exhaust valve had shattered in half......
Moral being never work on a Scooby.... :wall:
On topic - I5 for me anyday out of those but i'd actually prefer a 10v Turbo with circa 450-500bhp, straight through with no silencers and RPM limit of 8000.
