Thanks Dave. Still not given up on the Audi- wouldnt mind getting something like a 2.0 16V to use as an every day runner we will see. The big hit as far as the Audi was concerned was when I moved house and couldnt fit it in my Garage. This little MR2 fits in with about four foot spare!

Sorry I wont hijack the thread! Looking forward to this- great to have something local to home as alot of club meets tend to be up North I generally find.

Natter away Crossle...
This thread isn't called Northants Natter for nothing!

Quite understand the garage situation...
Consider yourself lucky that you at least have a garage in which to store your car/s, and maybe the option to extend it to make more space too - I don't even have that! I've been trying to find something to rent around here for the past year or so to no avail.

Agree that most meets are up North too - hence my organising something local.

I cant believe you've just said that to me! I had my Audi in a Garage in Northampton I was renting! I found an agent that specialises in Garages and got my Audi in there mid January. It was £55 per month but the issue was it was too far from my house- I had to drive 10 miles every time I wanted to get to the car and I was left with an empty garage at my house which just wasnt ideal. I sold the Audi after three weeks of it being in this Garage, I had paid three months up front so I had to try and talk nicely to the agent to let me get out of the lease agreement early. I literally handed the keys back last week- if I would have known I would have put you forward.

This is who you want to contact-
http://www.rentagarage.net/

The main dude that sorts them out is Martin Chown and he was very helpful to me-
ccfproperties@msn.com

They have blocks of garages in all different areas of Northampton. You will probably find there is a waiting list- I was lucky I asked at the right time and there was one available.

Ooopsy, sorry Crossle...
Yes you have told me that, but I do have a good excuse, I'm suffering from gig-hangover and still have my head in a cloud, as any girl would after seeing Daltrey. I'll try to do better next time.

Thanks for the link/email.

(PS. I still cant believe that you sold your gorgeous Audi, not many Audi's turn my head, so had I known, well I might have considered buying it!)

Haha we alll always say reluctant sale when we are selling a car dont we but I can honestly say I was almost trying to talk the guy out of buying it before he came over! It was just the garage thing that spoilt it all for me and it was never something I could have ever anticipated.

Having said all that I am really pleased with the move I have made- I want my new hobbie
to be visiting Classic Car shows. I gave up Single Seater car racing at the end of last season after 17 years of racing so need a new hobbie to keep me busy! Last year there was three classic shows I attempted to book in for and all three I couldnt go to because the Audi was too modern. The shows tend to be either pre 90 cars or at best pre 95, my Audi was 1996 awkwardly! The MR2 is 1988 so I am well away now! Of course the build quality is nothing near the Audi though.

On the plus side my Audi did sell to a guy on this forum so guess you might be seeing it again at some point. On the downside he lives in mid Wales!
